On May 11th, 2021, various local and state power and energy experts met for an Energy Summit which brought its audience up to speed on advancements in industry and presented ways to improve your bottom line. This energy summit, presented by Duke Energy, addressed these key topics:

Dominion Energy and Smithfield Foods through their Align Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) joint venture efforts are changing the landscape of clean energy and sustainable agriculture. APCO Worldwide offered its unique insight on what companies can expect on domestic and global climate issues. ABB painted a picture on how the electrification of transportation will impact our futures.

EPIC’s very own Dr. Rob Cox sat as a panelist alongside the likes of Edmund O. Schweitzer, Founder and President of Schweitzer Engineering Labs (SEL) and revolutionary of the protection industry, to discuss resilient infrastructure as it relates to North Carolina’s ever-evolving grid. Dr. Cox along with the other panelists, discussed how reliable energy is important for the development of North Carolina’s communities and businesses. North Carolina must make smart investments into energy infrastructure and improve resiliency to continue to attract new business and industry as well as weather through major storms and other physical threats. Though the work of all the panelists and power and energy professionals throughout the state, North Carolina will be better positioned to ensure the grid stays resilient enough to keep powering our communities and businesses.
