UNC Charlotte is North Carolina’s urban research institution. Our 1,000-acre campus is located in the piedmont of North Carolina, just two hours from the mountains and three hours from the Atlantic Ocean.

A large public university with a small college feel, where more than 29,600 students benefit from a student to faculty ratio of just 19:1, the university offers 75 Bachelor, 65 Masters, and 24 Doctoral degree programs. UNC Charlotte is the third-largest university of the 17 campuses within the UNC system, in which partner institutions include North Carolina State University, UNC Chapel Hill, and North Carolina A&T. With a 29% increase in enrollment in 10 years, more than 50% of the total growth in the UNC system since 2009, is attributed to UNC Charlotte. The university also partners with community colleges, regional universities, and international universities, including The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), The Vienna University of Technology (TU-Vienna), and more.
