The Energy Production & Infrastructure Center (EPIC) at UNC Charlotte invites applications for the opportunity to participate in the Transatlantic Energy Research Experience (TE-REx) Program. Students selected will travel for 12 weeks in the summer of 2024 (May-August) to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Karlsruhe, Germany. This program is fully funded, which means accepted applicants will receive a travel and research stipend. This opportunity is open to Undergraduate Early Entry MS or Graduate (MS/Ph.D.) students. Typically, five or six students from UNC Charlotte College of Engineering are selected to participate each year.
When the application is released, you will need to fill out your basic information and upload the following required documents:
- Essay that includes your energy-related coursework, your energy research interests, why you chose the KIT projects that you did, and a detailed description of your future energy career objectives
- Your transcript from all degrees (completed and current)
- An up-to-date resume
*Students will be notified of the 2024 TE-REx program via University email in Fall 2023. The online application will open after an initial program announcement. Applicants will be contacted for in-person interviews in mid November.
