Biography:

Gene Christiansen joined Metso Power, known formally as Gotaverken Energy Systems(Aker-Kvaerner) Charlotte NC in 1985. Held various positions in Engineering Management, Sales and Marketing, General Manager – Services from 2005-2010, appointed to current position as Director – Business Development – Innovations 2011. Energy Industry experience in Pulp & Paper, Industrial, Utility and Waste to Energy Plants Career has gone from Start-up Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Business Development, Manager of Business Units. Experienced with commercializing and securing orders for solution-based projects utilizing first of a kind technology. Recent activities involved Developing and Building a New Service Manufacturing Facility in Lancaster, SC. Currently responsible for the development of the First Commercial LignoBoost project in North America for the extraction of lignin to be used in producing value added BioFuels and products. Holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Marine Engineering from SUNY Maritime College, Fort Schuyler, NY
