Siemens logo and website

The Siemens Smart Infrastructure facility in Wendell serves as the U.S. Headquarters for Electrification and Automation. This 272,000-square-foot manufacturing powerhouse focuses on the critical technologies that stabilize and modernize the American power grid, including medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, and motor control centers. Following a recent $36 million investment in late 2024/2025, the site has significantly expanded its capabilities to include a state-of-the-art Customer Experience Center and a “Power Academy” for technical training. Engineers here are primarily focused on Electrification and Automation, developing the campus’s new solar-powered microgrid, working on battery storage and local energy management systems, translating complex customer requirements into technical blueprints for medium-voltage switchgear and motor control centers (including “Digital Twins”) and designing control panels and programming protective relays that prevent power outages and manage renewable energy integration.
