Electric Motor Testing Lab
Motor systems consume roughly half of the world’s total electricity. Because these machines drive such a large portion of global power usage, assessing their efficiency is essential for cutting energy waste, meeting regulatory mandates, and optimizing industrial performance.
Independent motor testing gives manufacturers, facility operators, and regulators an unbiased evaluation of how effectively an electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical power across various operating conditions.
To provide independent testing capabilities, EPIC maintains NVLAP accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifically for evaluating the efficiency of electric motors. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Advanced Energy, EPIC offers high-precision, internationally recognized testing that delivers fully traceable performance data to verify compliance and support next-generation motor development.
- ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Compliance: EPIC maintains formal accreditation through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) specifically for electric motor efficiency testing, ensuring every measurement process is well-documented, repeatable, and directly traceable to national standards.
- High-Precision Data & Validation: By operating under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, EPIC provides unbiased baseline and efficiency data that manufacturers and industry partners rely on to validate motor designs, confirm performance ratings, and accelerate market deployment.

Advanced Energy & EPIC Collaboration
Under a strategic agreement, EPIC with support from Advanced Energy, established an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited motors and drives test lab. In this collaborative framework, EPIC owns and operates the testing equipment and resources as an accredited testing lab, while Advanced Energy manages existing customer relations. This collaboration transitions Advanced Energy’s decades of motor testing capabilities and intellectual property into a state-of-the-art academic and research setting, continuing testing without interrupting accredited services for industry clients.
