Biography:

Kevon R. Makell is the Chairman, President, & Chief Executive Officer for Sun, Earth, Wind, & Water or SEWW Energy Incorporated, and is also serving as an Executive Fellow for ProSidian Consulting LLC of Charlotte, NC. Mr. Makell has combined a 32-year career with leadership activities in the Smart-Micro Grid Development and Integration, Renewable Energy (Solar & Wind), Energy Efficiency, Electric Vehicle, Energy Consulting, Power Marketing and Trading, Energy Services, Fortune 500 Utilities, and Nuclear Construction, Project Management & Testing industries in the USA, Africa, Bermuda and The Caribbean. He and his team at SEWW Energy most recently served as an Energy Partner with Lime Energy in support of Carolinas Healthcare Systems’ – Med 1 mobile medical hospital deployment during the 2012 Democratic National Convention held in Charlotte, NC. The MED-1 team showcased Energy Efficiency retrofits and sustainable micro-grid design features that would commence efforts toward development of future sustainable mobile medical unit that would optimize future CHS disaster recovery deployments.

Further, Kevon has served as an executive and consultant for several private business operations, utility business process improvement efforts, utility merger/acquisition and restructuring efforts, whilst also serving as a senior advisor in the development of international sustainable energy strategies, policy, legislative and regulatory frameworks. He initiated and managed electric vehicle and renewable energy groups and has built teams to execute multiple projects for US and international industries in power system planning, power electronics, the integration of interconnected and self-contained hybrid solar PV, solar thermal, wind power, and energy storage technologies into the grid. Mr. Makell has also created and project managed the development and execution of a nation wide electric vehicle performance demonstration of electric vehicle propulsion systems & charging infrastructure testing equipment involving high schools and universities across the US and Mexico. Throughout his career, he has performed work for utilities, residential, commercial, industrial, educational clients throughout the U.S., Bermuda, Caribbean, Latin America and Africa.

Kevon came to SEWW Energy as Founder, Board Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer from a Sustainable Energy technology company, PureNERGY Renewables, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Ascendant Group of Companies and sister-company to Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO). Mr. Makell created the company and served as its first Executive Officer serving operationally as its Vice President and General Manager during its earliest formative years. Previously Mr. Makell demonstrated his capability as an energy entrepreneur through the creation of several alternative energy, power marketing and trading, and energy efficiency companies throughout the US. Notably, Mr. Makell’s efforts in the EV arena lead to the development of electric vehicle curricula within various colleges and universities throughout the US and Mexico.

Mr. Makell, who has worked at the FirstEnergy Corp. Fortune 500 utility in Akron, Ohio for over 17 years, held various positions of increasing responsibility including Integrated Resource and Generation Capacity Expansion Planning, Engineering Economics and Rates Analysis, Production Costing & System Modeling, Nuclear Group budgeting & analysis, outage cost management, Wholesale Power Marketing and Trading, SO2 & NOx Emissions Allowance Trading, and Electric Vehicle Strategy development, to name a few. Kevon was awarded an Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Innovators Award for his contributions to an Availability Cost Optimization Methodology (ACOM) for Fossil Reheat Units in the early 1990’s, and was recognized as the leader and manager the first-ever Electric Vehicle open-wheeled electric vehicle performance demonstration that was conducted as a fully sanctioned support event to the IndyCar World Series, sanctioned by The Sports Car Club of America, and sponsored by The Big Three Automotive Companies/ABB, and GoodYear Tire and Rubber Companies, to name a few.

Kevon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Bucknell University with emphasis on managing engineering teams and is a member of AABE, USGBC, AACE, CREF and several other professional organizations.
